“Bright Force” was released on April by “Libra Records”. Album was recorded by “Kira Kira” quartet – Natsuki Tamura (trumpet), Alister Spence (rhodes electric piano, effects pedals and preparations), Satoko Fujii (piano) and Ittetsu Takemura (drums). The quartet bases his music on the main elements of avant-garde jazz, free improvisation and various styles of experimental jazz, which are influenced by other jazz styles. Along with free jazz, creative jazz and other styles of avant-garde jazz there’s also are heard many intonations of expressive, rapid and provocative bebop, neo bop, bost bop and other modern jazz styles. The music of the quartet is based on free improvisations, spontaneous solos and have vibrant, bright and vivacious sound. Musicians are always making  interesting musical decisions and create colorful, rich and evocative musical language. The traditions of American and European avant-garde jazz are fused together with soft intonations of modern and contemporary jazz styles. It’s also colorfully and subtly illustrated by ethnic elements of Japan traditional music and Asian music elements, which make a strong contrast to Western Europe music. These elements are not heard brightly here – it’s masterfully and organically mixed with dozens of other music styles and ony soft intonations of it are heard from time to time. “Kira Kira” music is bright, energetic, live and filled with expressive and passionate sound.

“Bright Force” is dynamic and expressive. All compositions of this album are based on extravagant musical decisions, bright and free improvisations, spontaneous and unpredictable solos and evocative instrumentation. Each member of the quartet has its own and original playing style – their music is based on various eclectic combinations of styles, strange rhythms, sounds and timbres. Extended and huge variety of playing techniques, expressions, chords and other harmony elements are used here along with brilliant and interesting musical experiments. That effects whole musical pattern – each new melodic intonation or rhythmic form brings new color and tune to the musical pattern. Sharp and unsual chords are based on extraordinary compilations of sounds and tunes – solid and firm harmonic pattern is based on these chords, colorful and variable mood of different pitches and intervals. The music is based on avant-garde jazz and collective improvisation – each musician is participating in creation of musical pattern. Difficult, colorful, warm and natural stylistic combinations, provocative musical decisions, vigorous and sudden waves of styles and expressions – these and other similar elements create rich, polyphonic and bright musical pattern. Expressive and dynamic piano improvisations are filled with active, emotional, touching and sensible solos. The original playing style of Natsuki Tamura joins together many different musical language and styles elements. Western Europe music elements, such as rhythmics or form, are gently combined together with specific Japon traditional music language, sharp and rigorous sound, traiditons of Europe and American avant-garde jazz. Expressive, charming and effective piano solos are filled with vivid, rigorous and turbulent solos, vibrant riffs, energetic bursts of energy. Musician is basing up his music as the natural synthesis and interesting sound. That gently fits together with intense, harsh, bright and sharp trumpet improvisations. Spontaneous solos, vigileant and charming solos, sparkling and memorable melodies, original and provocative rhythmic intonations are the main elements of Alister Spence improvising style. Drums section is highly contrasting with melodic – it’s independent, firm and solid. It’s very frequently is combined together with electronics and is separated from the melodic pattern. All kinds of different rhythmic forms are used here – after expressive, energetic, turbulent and evocative episodes there suddely goes subtle, silent and calm episodes. It looks like, the music is filled with original musical decisions, but it’s very dynamic, variable and constantly changing. Rapid, sharp and dynamic  rhythms of bebop, post bop, hard bop and other modern jazz styles are gently joined together with free, turbulent and remarkable improvisations. The marvelous and organic synthesis between contrasting musical language elements is another one very important element of this album. Musicians are masterfully switching betweem warm, natural and bright solos to the silent, lyrical, sad, tragic or provocative and dramatic mood. Natural and gentle sounds of electronics arfoined together with electronics. Drone, glitch, the elements of ambient, concrete and spectral music, weird and specific computer devices sounds, field recording – all these elements of are used here to create innovative and interesting sound. Because of organic and masterful synthesis of different musical language elements, different playing manners, extended playing techniques and other elements of musical language and remarkable, creative and charming improvising, musicians create remarkable, bright and innovative sound.
