“Ephemera” is the newest release by “Innova Recordings”. It’s the compositions set which were written by Jesse Jones. Jesse Jones (1978) is an American composer, conductor and mandolinist. Him playing and composing style is effected by high influence by various music styles and elements. The most part of Jesse Jones compositions are based on traditional and innovative playing techniques synthesis. Dynamic, expressive, moody and interesting sound is created by using very wide variety of different musical techniques and expressions and essentially combining in one musical pattern. The composer also pay high attention to sound experiments, use microtonal technique, various contemporary music styles and genres elements.

This album music has interesting and variable sound. Jesse Jones tries to create evocative and innovative sound of him compositions. Him composing style is created from many different music styles and elements. “Abraxas”, “Ephemera”, “Harmonies poetiques et religieuses”, “Unisono” and the last composition “The Mystery Which Binds Me Still” are based on various musical expressions. Sonic system experiments, search of unheard and weird instruments timbres, wide range of colors, musical expressions and sounds, free form and structure of the compositions are the main elements of Jesse Jones composing style. All these elements are heard very much in this album compositions. The compositions are based on different musical expressions which are highly contrasting with each other. Atonality, serialism, some elements of puantilism, microtonal techniques are put against tonal harmony, classic instrumentation and form. The composer experiments express wide range of emotions and moods – him music sometimes is soft and quiet, sometimes – emotional, dramatic, expressive or relaxing. The professional combining of innovative and traditional instrumentation is one of the most important element of these compositions. These elements make an effort to lively, evocative and interesting sound. Traditional instrumentation techniques such as glissando, portato, arpeggio, rubato and others are essentially mixed together with innovative and unusual ways of playing which create wide variety of sounds and timbres. The compositions harmony is consisted of various dissonances and consonances. These chords effect the mood and character of the compositions. The colorful and expressive harmony also is one of the most important element of the compositions and composer pay high attention to it. Many different music elements, composing techniques and other expressions are masterfully combined in these compositions. These elements create colorful musical pattern and interesting sound.
